Privacy Policy
Snowball Fight Online (“the game”) is operated by Pandasoft Ltd (“we”, “us”). We are the data controller for the information described below. Contact: support@pandagames.io.
We built the game to need as little information as possible: there are no accounts, no passwords and we never ask for your real name, email or date of birth.
1. What we collect and why
| Information | Why | Legal basis (UK/EU GDPR) |
|---|---|---|
| A random player ID created by your browser (stored in your browser and on our server) | To keep your snowflake (❄) balance, skins you unlocked and leaderboard results | Legitimate interests / performing the service you asked for |
| The nickname you type (max 12 characters) | Shown to other players and on public leaderboards | Performing the service |
| Gameplay data: matches played, kills, deaths, session times, items bought with in-game currency | Running matches, leaderboards, balancing and preventing cheating | Legitimate interests |
| Your IP address → country code. The IP address is not stored in our game database (only the country code is), but it is recorded in our web server logs | Rough country statistics, choosing servers, and limiting abuse (for example too many requests from one address) | Legitimate interests |
| Chat messages | Delivered live to players in the same match and filtered for offensive words. Chat messages are not stored | Legitimate interests |
| Technical server logs (time, IP address, page or request, browser type, errors) | Security, debugging and keeping the game running | Legitimate interests |
| Visit statistics through Cloudflare Web Analytics: the page you open, the site that linked to it, browser and device type, page load speed and a country derived from your IP address | Counting visits and seeing which pages are useful, as overall totals only. It does not use cookies or local storage and does not follow you across other websites | Legitimate interests |
2. Browser storage (cookies and similar)
The game stores a few items in your browser’s local storage: your player ID (sbf_player_id), last nickname, chosen emotes and mode, language and settings, and a short-lived reconnect token. These are strictly necessary for the game to work and are not used for advertising. We do not set advertising or analytics cookies; our visit statistics (Cloudflare Web Analytics, see section 1) work without cookies.
If we add advertising or analytics in the future, we will update this policy first, name the providers and what they collect, and ask for your consent before any non-essential cookies or similar technologies are used.
3. Your progress code
In the lobby you can view a “progress code”. It is your player ID. Anyone who has it can use your progress, so do not share it. We will never ask you for it.
4. Who we share data with
Your nickname, in-game actions and chat are visible to other players. Leaderboards are public. Our servers are hosted by IONOS, who process data on our behalf under a data processing agreement. Cloudflare, Inc. provides our visit statistics (Cloudflare Web Analytics) and receives the request data described in section 1 when you load a page; it acts as our processor under its data processing terms. We do not sell your data.
5. How long we keep it
Daily and weekly leaderboards are reset on a rolling basis. Your profile (player ID, balance, skins) is kept while you play; profiles that have not been used for 24 months may be deleted. Server logs are kept for up to 30 days. Database backups are kept for up to 30 days and then overwritten.
6. Children
The game is intended for players aged 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information (for example in a nickname), contact us and we will remove it.
7. Your rights
You may ask us to access, correct or delete the data linked to your player ID: send us your progress code at support@pandagames.io. You can also clear your browser storage at any time. If you are in the UK you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk); in the EU, to your local data protection authority.
8. Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date above and, for significant changes, show a notice in the game.
