Five tips to win on Ice Castle

Ice Castle is all about position. Two castles face each other across an open snowfield, and whoever controls the cannons beside them usually controls the match. Here are five tips to get the upper hand.

1. Take the cannons early

Four snow cannons stand on either side of the two castles. Step onto one and you can fire huge snowballs right across the field. The team that grabs the cannons first gets to shape the whole fight.

2. Never man a cannon alone

Cannons are powerful but exposed. While you are firing, you are an easy target. Have a teammate cover you — or at least check nobody is lining up a shot before you step on.

3. Heal between pushes

There is a campfire in each corner of the map — two on each side. Standing next to one slowly restores your health, but only while nobody is hitting you. Fall back, break line of sight, then heal.

4. Use the penguins

Penguins wander around the field. Hit one and it belly-slides away, bumping anyone in its path out of position. A well-timed shot can knock an enemy right out of cover.

5. Do not fight in the open

The snowfield between the castles has very little cover. Cross it quickly, crouch behind walls to refill your snowballs, and never reload in the middle of the field.
